The story of my current art practice begins with the rosary.

I had been wanting to pray the rosary daily. I desired that kind of spiritual discipline and a deeper prayer life.

Funny how the Lord can put that on your heart, even if you don’t really understand what it means. I occasionally wonder, why did I want to pray the rosary? I didn’t know the history of it, the power of it at the time. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of your grace even when I didn’t understand what it was.

So I began to draw while praying along with a daily rosary podcast… soon it was something I looked forward to.

Before, I would sometimes listen to the rosary podcast while walking the dog. I never made this a daily habit (though I wanted to!) until I merged it with drawing.

My artistic voice developed alongside my growing faith, thanks to the rosary.

I have been growing as an artist since I was a teenager taking classical drawing/painting lessons, followed by studying Art History in college and founding a high school art program later down the road. But I always focused on painting. I didn’t find my own voice until I shifted to illustration, drawing at my desk while in prayer.

It seems only right that my first collection is in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary.

I have created four original drawings, each one based off a single mystery of the rosary.

  • The Nativity, from the Joyful Mysteries

  • The Agony in the Garden, from the Sorrowful Mysteries

  • The Coronation, from the Glorious Mysteries

  • The Transfiguration, from the Luminous Mysteries

The collection will debut

October 7th.
